Created by and starring Maki Bonifacio, "Trying Hard" is a comedy web series that follows the intimate story of Maki – a gay person of color from the Philippines working and living in Nashville, Tennessee. Your Ihaw Ihaw Crew sat down with Maki to talk about how and why he created Trying Hard, how he ended up in the US, building his social network, and many other super interesting stuff. Talking to Maki was like talking to an old friend. It was so casual and fun that it felt more like catching up than doing an interview.
