Lema Nazeeh is a Palestinian lawyer, feminist and political activist. She is a deputy chairperson of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC), which operates in Occupied Palestinian Territories. She is a well-known political activist engaged in popular resistance to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. She specialises in International Criminal Law, detainees’ rights, litigation related to land entitlement as well as the coordination of advocacy campaigns.
Lema is constantly threatened by Israeli authorities that carry out political arrests of Palestinian activists on the charges of preparing or participating in non-violent demonstration. She has been arrested four times in the last three years. She also holds a Masters (LLM) in International Criminal Law from the University of Turin. Currently, she works as a diplomat and legal expert in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
