Fonz Morris is an experienced growth design leader and entrepreneur, Fonz has a proven track record of success. With over a decade of experience in product design, Fonz has worked with some of the biggest names in the tech industry, including Coursera, Xfinity, and Netflix, where he played a crucial role in converting millions of users. But Fonz isn't just a design whiz - he's also a mentor and public speaker, with speaking engagements at Columbia University, An Event Apart, and Afrotech. He holds a certification in Design Thinking from Stanford University and studied at Oxford University, Morehouse College, and The Wharton School.
But that's not all! Fonz is also a fierce advocate for self-taught designers and entrepreneurs, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through his work spearheading the Pathways program at Netflix and his self-driven public speaking and mentorship roles.
As the Lead Product Designer for Global Conversion at Netflix since 2020, Fonz has helped lead the charge in driving conversions and growth. Before that, he led a design team at Coursera and held design positions at Comcast. Fonz is also the founder of two innovative tech start-ups, MyChannel and MyArtistDNA.
But Fonz doesn't just excel in his professional life - he also gives back to the design community. He's spoken at conferences like AfroTech, How Design Live, and Event Apart, and mentors design students through various organizations, including California College of the Arts and General Assembly's UX Design Bootcamp. Fonz has even contributed his knowledge to conferences like UX Fest, UXDX, Rethink, Made In the Future, and State of Black Design. He's on the Design Thinking board and the strategic planning committee at the Woodland School and has advised venture capital firms like First Round, Floodgate, and Signalfire.
Fonz is always hungry to learn and grow, continuing his education with recent certifications from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Black VC, UC Berkeley Extension, and VC University, of which he was a 2022 Cohort 11 Scholarship recipient.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Fonz has worked in tech and design on both coasts of the United States, in cities like Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and California. Get ready to be inspired by this design powerhouse.
