Hamish Danks Brown is a poet, storyteller, writer and event MC who's been based in Melbourne since 2016. Originally from Sydney, he's led a maverick life in the arts and media in various parts of Australia, and travelled around the world on a poetic pilgrimage in 2015-2016. Also known as Danksta Downunder and Je Suis/I Am Joe Gould, he hosts 2 weekly events: The Last Outpost of Poetry in St Kilda and Spoken Word @ Bar Oussou in Brunswick, and is also Vice-President of the Melbourne Poets Union. 2 of his chapbooks have been published so far: "All Other Destinations" and "The Broken Candle" while a full-length genre-fluid book "Vices Wrenches Forges Anvils" is in progress. Hamish has lived in Elwood aka El Driftwood for several years as manager of Roy the Cat Resort and Retreat and also because the streets in that suburb are named after poets. His motto is "The second that I live is the second that I live in" (Italo Calvino 1923-1985) and his personal status is singular.
