Ep 4: Dr. Buba Marong, MD
On this episode of the I Look Like a Doctor podcast, I interviewed Dr. Buba Marong, an internal medicine physician at Aurora Advocate Health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this episode, we discuss Dr. Marong's journey from his hometown in The Gambia to the US to pursue his dream of becoming a physician and how to optimize the medical education learning environment. Throughout the episode, Dr. Marong also shares his inspirational life lessons for maintaining a positive attitude throughout the grueling medical training process and in all aspects of life. Short Bio: Dr. Buba Marong was born and raised in The Gambia. He came to the US after high school to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a physician. He worked as a nursing assistant, and later as a nurse while obtaining his Associate of Science degree from Tacoma Community College and his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. He is currently an internal medicine hospitalist at Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee. Views expressed in this podcast are his personal views and not representative of his former or present employers.
