Based on the Sierra Leone National Lifeskills manual “I am somebody”, this podcast is developed from recordings prepared for airing on Education Radio as part of the Radio Teaching Programme by the Teaching Service Commission and Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education while schools are closed due to Coronavirus mitigration measures. The programme is aired from 7:30-8pm five days per week (Monday to Friday) on 95.3fm targeting both in and out of school adolescent girls and boys aged 14-19.

BRAC Reader Series - For Her Sake

Today’s episode will focus on the story call For Her Sake.

This story is about a girl named Mabinty, who uses her voice and boldness in order to gain justice, against all odds. The topic of this episode is related to Sexual Violence, also known as abuse or rape. If this topic makes you feel upset, please talk to an adult you trust. If you ever experience sexual violence, please do not stay quiet. You can always talk to an adult or call 116 for help.

1) Understand the term Gender based violence

2) Explain the story of Mabinty and the dangers she faces

3) Understand how you can response to GBV in your community
