Some hunts just fall perfectly into place — even when you don’t know the full story until it’s over. In this episode of The Setup Series, Josh recounts the pursuit of a 156-inch mystery buck that first showed up on his Muddy cam back in August with only a couple of marginal nighttime pictures. After tagging a Minnesota buck in September, Josh shifted focus to Wisconsin, committing to an aggressive rut strategy built around a Flambeau Boss Buck decoy. What followed was a rollercoaster of encounters — from an October 23 decoy explosion to nonstop buck activity in early November. Then, on November 12 at 8:50 a.m., a few rattles were all it took. The same buck that had haunted trail cam photos appeared out of nowhere, and Josh made it count.
