When Danielle Lewis began her role as CHRO of the Vancouver-based Pacific Pilotage Authority, she had zero experience in the marine sector but a sense of the unique challenges the industry is facing in a world of labour shortages and cutbacks. Hiring for highly-specialized and experienced roles has required Lewis and her team to be innovative, developing a “Workforce of the Future” plan as part of the Authority’s four pillar strategy.
