Wondering how to start a business as a young entrepreneur? You're not alone. It's difficult figuring how to start a business at any age, especially when you're young and still figuring things out. As someone who started a business at 21, and struggled figuring out how to make money as a photographer and videographer for a long time, it's important to me to have conversations like this one to help the next young entrepreneurs find success more quickly.
In this episode of How To Win With Video, I talk with Josh Farley. At the age of 22, Josh figured out how to become a young real estate agent (and a successful young real estate agent, at that), and the Owner of multiple businesses including TRC Contracting and 2nd Chance Credit Repair. At the time of this interview and when this video is being posted, Josh is 23 years old. He's got his stuff figured out. On top of being a young entrepreneur running multiple businesses at once, Josh was also a young first time home buyer, purchasing a house which he now uses as part of a rental property portfolio he's building.
If you take a look at his Instagram, you know two things about Josh- he knows how to work hard for success, and he knows how to work from anywhere. His focus and work ethic is top notch, and he's constantly using Instagram Stories to share what's going on in his day. Whether he's showing a house, sharing some tips for young entrepreneurs, or traveling to some exotic paradise, Josh makes sure he's part of your world via the phone in your pocket. The reason for sharing so much and posting consistently online? It's for the people who become clients. Like he says in our interview, when I first meet them they feel like they're best friends with me already."
So if you're a young entrepreneur trying to figure out how to run multiple businesses at once, or you're looking for an answer on how to start a business as a teenager, then this interview is for you. Josh gives some real insight on what it's like working hard for the life you want for yourself, including the awesome parts and the pitfalls. Some of the things you'll hear us talk about in this interview include the reality of how to make money from anywhere, how to push past failures as a young entrepreneur, the biggest advantage of posting consistently on social media, how to give yourself an edge over people who have years more experience than you, how to use video to build trust as a realtor, the power of work ethic and focus in becoming a successful entrepreneur, and how to show success online without being an ass about it.
