After finding a passion in disability support work, and recognising it was the right time to start his own venture, David and his co-founder, Ryan, launched Buttons Support Services. With a mission to encourage social engagement, community participation and personal development for their participants, Buttons carefully matches support workers with participants in order to foster the best possible outcome. Notably, Buttons Support Services places huge emphasis on attracting young people to support work, and do so by ensuring it’s a well rewarded and viable career option, with their support staff being paid over $50k above standard industry rates.
It was great chatting to David about why and how this journey began, as well as where he sees it headed.
