In this episode, Rachael Roland shares her journey of founding her non-profit: BeLOVEd Beauty, a charitable organization which helps at-risk women (girls in the foster system and sex trafficking survivors) recover from past wounds and transition into sustainable jobs in the beauty industry.

Rachael describes her post-college years in which she flew from the U.S. to Thailand and Cambodia to do work abroad where she was gripped by the reality of sex trafficking. When she returned to the U.S., she knew she had to start BeLOVEd Beauty. Having worked in the cosmetology industry, she wanted to share her passion for beauty and make up with women who have been through the most severe circumstances.

We discuss her work, the ups and downs of her journey, her faith, her volunteer work and why it inspires her, and a little bit about her personal side (Rachael went to school for Film/Television). Could this be the answer to sex trafficking? There’s more work to do, but we can guarantee that we’re a lot stronger in this fight with Rachael on our side.
