A special presentation from URY's House of Finesse: ODE, a periodic series of mixes paying tribute to some of my favourite musicians and creatives. It's only fitting that the first ODE is to a friend. LUKA is someone I consider myself blessed to have met and become friends, business partners and brothers with. Anthony LUKA Kasirivu is an incredibly talented and self-taught producer, sound designer & label head at We Go Deep. He started producing music in 2004, and his steady rate of quality output has seen him go on to work with a star-studded array of vocalists, producers and remixers. The likes of Charles Webster, Jazzuelle, Shur-I-Kan, Enoo Napa & Fka Mash have been captivated by LUKA's lush and dreamy soundscapes, and inspired to create their own takes. LUKA frequently collaborates with some of the vocalists that are the undeniable (even if sometimes under-appreciated) force behind house music, including Sió (who doubles as a producer as well), Jackie Queens, Jaidene Veda and Alison Crockett. The unmistakable and eclectic fusion of Lounge, Nu-Jazz, Soulful Hip-Hop, deep dub, techno and tribal has landed LUKA's music on plenty labels including Peng (UK), Fomp (UK) and Dark Energy (UK). The Mafikeng, South Africa-based producer also designs sound and music for film & TV.
