  Talking about stress management, self-care and mental health in the workplace can reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Today, we sit down with Independent Health and Horizon to further discuss what the two organizations have developed to assist employers on how to provide resources and education to their employees. The partnership will achieve this through a training program by connecting employers with resources to identify mental health conditions and also assist employees through what can be a sensitive conversation with their teams. We sit down with Sean Cuddihy from Room 9 to discuss his experience while going through treatment, his journey with recovery and his focus on collaborating to end the stigma around mental health and substance use. Sean founded Room 9 in 2018 when he was at Horizon Village for heroin use. He titled it Room 9 because 9 was his room number.   There are many challenges posed from COVID-19 and many of us are feeling emotions that we may have never experienced before. For many who have lost someone, the feeling of grief is immense. Even those in our community who haven’t lost someone are still feeling some of the stages of grief as we navigate the loss of jobs, our rituals in life and perhaps the comfort we felt in our day to day lives.
