Lisa King is the 5th granddaughter of Wiley Pope, who married and legally freed a slave, creating the first and only known "Deed of Emancipation" in Kansas, which made his wife Lucy, in 1860, a free woman and set a course for their extraordinary family that unfolded across generations. You can hear the extraordinary story of how Wiley met, fell in love with, and freed Lucy, and how those choices reverberated all the way to Lisa's life, in the first episode of Season 2 of Hope Lives Here.
