Not everyone has the same life goals or dreams, but in general we all hope for good things for our future. We hope for flourishing relationships, meaningful work, good health, and the resources to not only survive but thrive. But before long, most of us experience the opposite of our expectations: we face everything from small disappointments and setbacks to massive injustices and harm. Where God says we are more than conquerors we may feel like the conquered ones; where God says He came that we'd have life to the full, we may feel like we've been robbed. What do we do when we are victims of circumstances or people? In this mini-series, we will look at the way God wants to shift our eyes to see ourselves and our pain as He sees. We will wrestle with what it means to surrender even our victimhood to God and let Him sow life where the enemy intended to sow death.

What is a church? Well, we can tell you this...it's not a building, it's a group of people who follow Jesus and are introducing Jesus to others. Unfortunately, these days Jesus followers have lost a lot of credibility in our world. The Bible says that people of Jesus should be "light" and "love" which means our churches should be places that attract and provide hope for all people.
In this series, we want to explore what the church actually should be...and also what it shouldn't be. And when we truly understand what a church is and why it exists, maybe...just maybe...we can reclaim our "light" and our "love" in a world that desperately needs it.
