11. Building the New City

In today's episode we are getting a little woo woo in honour of Halloween! I'm going to get a little personal and share one of my biggest life goals.

Do you ever feel like life is trying to tell you something?

At the end of 2023, I was 34 – broke, divorced, just opened a brand new business, and sleeping on my parents couch. Not anywhere near close to the glamorous life I was portraying online, or the one that I so desperately wanted. On the outside I seemed successful, crushing goals, and not letting anyone or anything stop me. But on the inside I was crumbling, stuck, and lost.

I began this year by committing to two major changes in my life. One, a daily journaling practice, and Two, within that daily journaling practice to write 3 things that I was grateful for each day. Despite the pressure, the suffering, the struggle, I could always find at least 3 things daily that I could find gratitude in, and the writing worked as a cathartic release for me.

So here I am, I have started to make some new habits for myself. Rebuilding the city if you will. I have decided to start making intentional time out of my week every week to write. I’ll keep you updated on my journey.
