🇬🇧 Shanley Clemot McLaren, feminist activist and co-founder of @stopfisha which fights against cyber-violence, was the guest of the first Homo swipiens live at the Podfest in Berlin. Together we tried to answer the questions: how to make cyberspace a safer place? After all, has a "safe" place ever existed? Isn't cyberspace simply the magnifying and distorting mirror of an unequal, discriminating and capitalist society? Is politics up to the challenge? How can we take the power back from the Gafam? How can we protect ourselves from attacks and violence in a world that no longer gives us any respite, not even in our intimacy? To ask a question is to formulate many others. Ensemble nous avons tenter de répondre à la question: comment faire du cyber espace un endroit plus sûr ? Car après tout, un endroit “sûr” a t il déjà existé ? Le cyber espace n’est-il pas simplement le miroir magnifiant et déformant d’une société inégalitaire, discriminante et capitaliste ? Le politique est-il à la hauteur des enjeux ? Comment reprendre le pouvoir laissé aux mains des Gafams? Comment se préserver des attaques et des violences dans un monde qui ne nous laisse plus de répit, mêne pas dans notre intimité ? Poser une question c’est en formuler tant d’autres. Elements de réponses dans cet épisode.
