Verse of the day: 1 Peter 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
What is this living hope? What hope did Jesus bring? “To repent for the kingdom of heaven is here”? What does that mean? It means that God reigns and that we can be part of His kingdom now! With the birth of Jesus this desire to be in God’s kingdom became renewed in us and with Jesus’ death burial and resurrection it showed us that God was more powerful than death. And the best part we don’t have to prove that we “deserve” to be in His kingdom. We just have to accept that Jesus is King and then follow God’s law. And we can only truly follow God’s laws if we understand them and we can only understand if we have a relationship with Him. The best part is that Jesus was the embodiment of that relationship. So the living hope is that Jesus is in charge and that His kingdom is here and we can access it by His abundant mercy meaning that we are able to enter into His kingdom, because of Him.
