Savita was instrumental in India's historic Bronze medal victory at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. She also led the team to victory in the inaugural FIH Nations Cup.

The 32-year-old Haryana native has won several awards in her decade-long career, including the Arjuna Award. She was also instrumental in India's historic fourth-place finish at the Olympics in Tokyo.

For her recent achievements as the Captain and goalkeeper of the Indian Team, Savita was honoured with the Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Award for Player of the Year 2022.
