Exploring generational poverty and structural racism in Canada through Leonard Paris's memoir: Jim Crow Also Lived Here

How does history live within us?

Join Leonard Paris as he shares his engaging memoir of growing up as a Black child in Nova Scotia in the 50’s and 60’s. Len brings stories of structural racism and generational poverty that impacted every area of his life. He works to dispel the myth that racism and discrimination were only an American experience and to create awareness that these problems continue to this day. We engage with this exciting memoir and how to bring it into your history classroom.
