Hip-Hop Hidden Gems was created to celebrate underappreciated artist & songs of the past. While the art form of hip-hop continues to engrave itself into popular culture worldwide, it is a must we give credit to those that paved the way. On episode 2 the HHHG crew focus on an All-Time great MC, Big Daddy Kane. While Kane's second album "It's A Big Daddy Thing" is known to be a classic to old school heads, it needs to get more appreciation in today's era. Willie Freeman and TheMoJoKing set their sights on one of the hardest, albeit lesser known tracks on the album, "Mortal Combat". Was it a dis track? Was Kane going after specific top MC's? How was the song produced? Why does this song prove that Big Daddy Kane deserves to be in the "greatest of all time" discussion? In this fast paced but wide ranging podcast the duo discuss it all.
