American Nurses Foundation Gratitude Podcast - How to Share Gratitude with Your Team & Colleagues, with Amy Graber, MSN, RN, OCN, and Katie Feley, DNP, RN, NE-BC
Welcome to a special series on Gratitude brought to you by the American Nurses Foundation through the generous support of the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Disaster Recovery Fund.
In this special series we will explore how developing gratitude practices can significantly improve your health and well-being, while also improving your work, safety, relationships, self-care, growth, and joy.
The American Nurses Foundation has undertaken this work as part of its Well-Being Initiative, which supports nurses’ mental health through the pandemic and beyond. Decades of research have shown that practicing gratitude is highly effective in promoting physical and psychological health, both at the individual and organizational levels. This podcast series builds up previous work conducted by the American Nurses Foundation in partnership with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley.
Gratitude Practice for Nurses toolkit was designed to create easy-to-implement evidence based practices.
In this episode, Amy Graber, Magnet Program Coordinator, Nursing Administration, CHI Health Mercy, Katie Feley, Chief Executive Officer, Indiana State Nurses Association, Executive Director, Indiana Nurses Foundation, and I go on a journey to discover how to share gratitude practices with teams, colleagues, coworkers. We talk about the impact when these gratitude practices are shared, encouraged and supported. We arrive at a understanding of how gratitude has made significant impacts in work cultures, team development, and the customer experience.

"Am I in tune? Yeah, I can't hear much. But the melody coming from you." - the Damnwells
We're all on a search for meaning, purpose and belonging. We can find that in presence. Maybe the great lesson of 2020 is that we needed it restored. Our rhythm of life needed to be reset, allowing us to be still, to look into this window of wonder of the moment.
We learned how fragile these days are, how our best plans are laid to waste and our security disarmed. In our rush, we've been failing to recognize our greatest gift - to be where we are today.
In this special episode of "Highway to Well," Maggie Gough, President, Founder and CEO Realize Wellbeing, and I close out 2020 and usher in 2021 by discussing the adventures she captures on her Instagram story, how we can evolve wellness to encompass the whole person, and the majesty of restoration.
As we embark on a new year, we have the opportunity to breathe, recover and celebrate each day as a gift of wonder as we transform cultures of connection into cultures of belonging.
Thank you again for listening.
