His Knightsbridge OG won third prize at the 2013 High Times Cup in Amsterdam and put Lady Sativa Genetics on the map. Recently Jah teamed up with Q-Farms, one of the ten licensed producers in the Dutch cannabis experiment, bringing strains like Super Orange Glue, Marmalade, Kensington Kush and of course Knightsbridge OG to the Dutch consumer. We talk about his journey, the UK cannabis scene and much more. In the news section we discuss the problems one of the other licensed producers in the experiment, CanAdelaar, is having with complaints about the smell from people living close by. We talk about a new study proving that cannabis flower’s THC content can vary by as much as one-third, even within the same plant and a Google pilot project in Canada, allowing cannabis advertising. Our history segment is devoted to Mr. Nice, the autobiography of Welsh cannabis smuggler Howard Marks (1945-2016).

De Kronkel in Nijmegen, sinds 1986, is één van de oudste en beste coffeeshops van het Zuiden. Oprichter Gilbert Esmeijer kan bogen op ruim veertig jaar ervaring in cannabisland, zijn jaren als huisdealer van het legendarische café Extase meegeteld. Hij heeft uitgesproken ideeën en steekt die niet onder stoelen of banken.
Samen bespreken we het cannabis nieuws van de afgelopen weken, o.a. de VOC campagne Wat is Nederhasj?, een B2B bijeenkomst van het Marokkaanse cannabisagentschap ANRAC in Amsterdam, realiteitskater in Duitsland, de beperkte legalisering in Tsjechië per 1 januari 2026 en de softe rollback in Thailand.
Gilbert vertelt het verhaal van De Kronkel, de mooie en lelijke kanten: stigmatisering, geweld en tegenwerking. Hij legt uit waarom hij de wietproef eerder “een gedrocht” noemde maar er toch blij mee is. En hij waarschuwt voor het risico dat venture capitalists vormen voor onze cannabiscultuur.
In De Ouwe Doos leest Derrick een fragment uit ‘De botanica van het verlangen’ van Michael Pollan. Rens heeft een vier jaar oude luisteraarsreactie gevonden van een inmiddels bekende naam.
