The ninth episode of Hey Awesome Girl with Tivi Jones features Karla Montalvan, a columnist for People en Español’s Chica. She is also the Strategy and Editorial Director at TAMDEM Studio, a creative agency she co-founded in 2019 after 10 years of working in non-profit management, fundraising, donor relations, and international communications. Karla’s expertise ranges from multimedia storytelling and social media management to campaign design, copywriting and editing. She is a graduate of Miami Dade College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in coaching.
Many years ago, Karla started a blog based on stories of her daily life in Miami and her experience as a Cuban turned American immigrant. Today, the blog has evolved into a place of inspiration for many young entrepreneurs seeking to expand their networks and businesses. Besides interviewing celebrities for People Español and running her consulting business, you can find Karla venturing around coffee shops, hiking, or walking her dog.
