Hello Hero Boys and Girls,
We started a new series called Celebrating Our 20s
We began this series in our 29th year as a way to honor how far we’ve come since launching HerOwnHero in our early 20s. A lot has shifted — our values, beliefs, and the way we view the world — and we wanted to take a moment to pause, reflect, and have honest conversations around those changes.
Our guest on this episode is Chisom from @Nri.nka
Chisom is a Toronto based food artist, photographer, and digital content creator.Chisom’s journey is a beautiful story of courage, creativity, and carving out a life beyond traditional expectations. Originally drawn to baking and cake decoration, her love for art, form, and color led her into food artistry and photography.
Her work, inspired by flowers, film, literature, and nature, captures warmth, sunshine, and joy — images ready to adorn the prettiest spaces. We asked hard questions like :
✨ Discovering the courage to embrace creativity over convention✨ The first time passion turned into real income✨ The hardest parts of walking an unconventional road✨ Advice for young women choosing their own paths
Chisom’s story is both vulnerable and inspiring, reminding us that there’s power in following your gifts — even when it means creating a new definition of success.
Join us as we reflect on the shifts, lessons, and milestones of our 20s, and celebrate the courage it takes to be your own hero.
Dont forget to subcribe and follow us on all platforms and share this with your friends who are turning a new age :)
Hello Hero Boys and Girls
It's my birthday :)
Oh, and I feel super cool, super excited, and yes, super vulnerable about where I am, what I want in life, and what I have to do to get there. It's just a lot of things to break down, and sometimes it's difficult to admit to ourselves that we are not where we want to be in life.
So on this solo episode, I would be getting vulnerable, open, honest, and real with you, and i will be telling you all the things that scare me as I get older

Hello Hero Boys and Girls,
Welcome to HEROWNHERO POD, a podcast for women navigating life, love and career in Africa.
This season Sophia and I would be going back in memory lane, reflecting on our twenties (since we would be crossing over to the 3rd floor soon) and discussing about all the ways our lives and our beliefs have changed so far
In this episode, we dived into what love and marriage looked like in our early 20s vs. now.
From childhood crushes to the weighty expectations of adulthood, we explore how our views on love have evolved and how societal pressures influence the decisions we make about marriage.
We asked ourselves:
What did love feel like when we were younger?
When did the pressure to marry first show up?
How has our definition of “settling” changed?

Hello Hero Boys and Girls!
Did you miss me?
For the first time, I would have a co-host join me on the show, and that would be the beautiful Sophia Ahuoyiza
In this episode, we dive into what it really means to date as a feminist in a world still shaped by traditional gender norms.
From who pays on the first date to rejecting old-school expectations about romance, we unpack how feminism influences decision-making, intimacy, and emotional labor in modern relationships.
So this episode is for you, whether you’re navigating dating apps, meeting family expectations, or reflecting on your own dating patterns, this episode challenges and inspires growth in how we approach love and how feminism plays a big part in romance.
Remember to fill out our poll and share it with your friends. You can also leave a comment while you listen.

Love you

Hello Hero Boys and Girls!!
We are back with a banger. its 2025 and we are back with another interesting episode where we talk about the Gen Z term for being hyper focused on your goals until you accomplish them
1. To Be Locked In 🔒🔥:Being fully focused, in the zone, and undistracted. It means you’re so dialed into what you’re doing that nothing can break your concentration.
Examples:
2. To Lock In 🎯✅: To commit to focusing on something or getting into a deep state of concentration. It’s like making a conscious decision to stay locked into a task.
Examples:
On this episode we talk about how to lock in as a woman this year. Women struggle to lock in, perhaps this is due to societals expectations, multiple responsibilities, or just the sheer fact that women do not take their dreams as seriously as men do,.
now over to you
"why do you think women find it so hard to stay locked in?"
Share your thoughts and your own ways you stay locked In
