This is a podcast about people...soldiers who served and sacrificed in the time of the Great War. It is a podcast where I bring the names carved in granite back to life...telling the stories of ordinary men (and a few women) who fought in WW1. Each episode is based on a unique biography written with care and compassion, aimed at helping us understand these ordinary soldiers. Each biography has been written and posted to Substack and Facebook...but I know that we are all busy. This podcast is for people 'on the go' and give them a chance to experience these interesting stories.

This is the story of 2nd Lt. George Howsam from the Royal Flying Corps and Vice Air Marshall and Director of Training from the Royal Canadian Air Force.
