Spring Dawn

shī míng: Chūn xiǎo
zuò zhě: mèng hào rán

chūn mián bù jué xiǎo,
chù chù wén tíniǎo
yè lái fēng yǔ shēng
huā luò zhī duō shǎo

Sleeping not knowing it’s morning
Birds are chirping everywhere
Sounds of rain and wind from last night
I wonder how many fallen flowers are there.

chūn xiǎo: Spring dawn
wén: hear
tíniǎo: birds'chirping
zhī duō shǎo: I dont know how much

You can tell from the first line that writer was sleeping in and didn’t know it was already in the morning. He was up because of birds singing here and there. Otherwise he probably was still in bed. He remembered the sounds of rain and wind from last night and then he wondered how much flowers was falling down on the ground.
