Jesper Binzer (f. 1965) har som frontmand i D-A-D udlevet samtlige rock and roll-klichéer, oplevet stor succes og turneret verden rundt, men også mærket prisen for at stå forrest, når spotlightet tændes – og når det slukker. For hvad sker der, når man har været på toppen i årtier? Og hvordan fortsætter man med at forny sig selv – uden at miste sig selv?
Over for ham sidder Eske Willerslev (f. 1971), som har jagtet fortidens hemmeligheder i iskerner og gamle knogler, kortlagt menneskets DNA-historie og udvidet forståelsen af vores egen oprindelse. Som en af verdens førende DNA-forskere har han også oplevet den personlige pris for succes, og de udfordringer der opstår, når man forsøger at bryde ud af den danske andedam for at vinde anerkendelse på den internationale scene.
På Heartland 2025 mødes de to mænd fra to vidt forskellige verdener for at finde fælles svar på, hvordan man håndterer succes og fiasko, hvordan man bliver ved at forny sig og hvordan man bliver ved med at være relevant – uanset om man er videnskabsmand eller rockstjerne.
Samtalen modereres af Gunver Lystbæk Vestergård (f.1983), journalist på Weekendavisen og ph.d. i videnskabsjournalistik. Hun er forfatter til bogen ‘Fjerne kloder’ (2019) og medforfatter til en række andre populærvidenskabelige bøger.
