In our eighth episode of the Healthy You Podcast, we meet Marlene Sharpe-Westwood who is a specialist group exercise instructor working across Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire distrcits. Marlene has been involved in Cambridge City's Exercise Referral service since day 1 back in 1996 and has decades of experience working with participants with a variety of long term conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and stroke and cardiac rehabilitation. Marlene shares what is it that keeps her coming back year on year to work as an instructor and what she thinks is the magic ingredient to keep her class participants coming back too. Like for many others, the past year has been challenging for Marlene and in the episode she opens up about her experience of the pandemic and how it has given her a greater appreciation for what her clients are facing and the barriers they have to overcome to get fitter.
