Obtaining a credential takes time, money, and effort—which is why it’s important to make the right choice. In this episode of the H.I.M. Kengia holds a B.S. degree in Health Information Management from DeVry University, an M.S. degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Walden University. Kengia completed her doctoral coursework in Higher Education Leadership and Management at Capella University. Kengia earned her RHIT in 2008, superseding it with the RHIA in 2010. Kengia earned the CCA in 2017 to share the experience with her students. Over the years, she has held numerous leadership positions in Health Information Management in several hospitals throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Kengia transitioned into education as an Adjunct instructor for a Health Information Technology program in 2011. Kengia transitioned full-time into academia in 2016 and found her passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping students earn their certification and secure employment.
