We're discussing this not to assign blame, but rather to investigate the possible reasons and motivations behind this thankfully uncommon, yet oddly reoccurring phenomenon wherein a person's character is wholly assassinated based not on specific actions, but rather a self-perpetuating nebulous assignment of guilt.
