Across the four jurisdictions on our two islands (England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Ireland), a law reform process is underway in relation to hate crime legislation. These are taking very different forms, with England and Wales seeking to reform legislation which is now over twenty years old, and Ireland considering the introduction of such legislation for the first time. This podcast seeks to discuss and analyse some as yet unexplored, or underexplored themes, across these law reform processes.
