Baltimore-based guitarist Jeremy Hairston explained techniques he used as a beginner to learn guitar and how great guitarists influenced his playing. He shared the impact of a high school guitar-making class on his appreciation of the instrument. He also recounted how he got involved with bands: Flawed Logic, the Mercy Band, Lorde Ana, and Messiah Community Church band. Jeremy treated us with a show & tell of his guitar collection and pedal board. His advice to beginner guitarists is: "play what you want to hear." Since the age of 17, Jeremy has devoted diligent practice to his craft--playing, gigging, recording and writing across jazz, blues, rock, R&B, and Christian/Gospel music genres. He's a band member and lead guitarist with Lorde Ana, Mercy Band and at Messiah Community Church. Jeremy is a proud graduate of Howard University, where he earned his B.S. in Psychology.
