Hanny's StoryTime - Islamic Stories from the Qur'an
Hanny's StoryTime
24 episodes
I read my findings/stories after doing research about the events, histories and stories from the Qur'an. And I also gather some hadiths that go along with it (either Sahih, Hassan or Da'if but mainly from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Initially, I started this in my YouTube channel to help my daughter to understand what Islam is all about. But then I realized that there're so much that I, myself were not even aware of. In our daily hectic life, I pray that this 'Podcast' can help us all to remember why we are here in the first place. “Laa ilaha ilallah, Muhammadan ‘Abduhu wa Rasuluh”

Part 5 of Prophet Samwil عليه السلام story (Prophet Samuel), King Talut (Saul), Jalut (Goliath) and Prophet Daud عليه السلام (David)

Narrated by Abu Hurairah: from Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2646, Book 41, Hadith 2 : The Virtue Of Seeking Knowledge [that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."] As a rule of thumb, any hadith which contradicts the Qur’an should be considered null and void. Only the Qur'an is the absolute authentic text which has remained intact throughout. Al Qur’an is the word of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى and Hadiths are just for our reference. May we receive mercy from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and also receive guidance to gather sufficient supplies so that we are safe and comfortable in Mahsyar facing Allah SWT being entered into heaven by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala without reckoning and also punishment. Surah mentioned : - In Surah Al~Baqarah 2, verse 247 : (The Cow) [ And their Prophet said to them, “Indeed Allah has appointed Talut (Saul) as a king over you.” They protested, “How can he be a king over us when we are fitter than him for the kingdom, and he has not been given enough wealth.” He said, “Verily, Allah has chosen him above you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah grants His kingdom to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing.” ] - Surah Al~Baqarah 2, verse 248 : (The Cow) [ Their prophet further told them, “The sign of Talut’s kingship is that the Ark will come to you—containing reassurance from your Lord and relics of the family of Musa and the family of Haroon, which will be carried by the angels. Surely in this is a sign for you, if you (truly) believe.” ] - Surah Al~Baqarah 2, verse 249 : (The Cow) [ When Talut marched forth with his army, he cautioned: “Allah will test you with a river. So whoever drinks (his fill) from it is not with me, and whoever does not taste it—except a sip from the hollow of his hands—is definitely with me.” They all drank (their fill) except for a few! When he and the (remaining) faithful with him crossed the river, they said, “Now we are no match for Goliath and his warriors.” But those (believers) who were certain they would meet Allah reasoned, “How many times has a small force vanquished a mighty army by the Will of Allah! And Allah is (always) with the steadfast.” ] - Surah Al Baqarah 2, verse 250 : (The Cow) [ When they advanced to face Goliath and his warriors, they prayed, “Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, make our steps firm, and give us victory over the disbelieving people.” ] - Surah Al Baqarah 2, verse 251 : (The Cow) [ So they defeated them by Allah’s Will, and David killed Goliath. And Allah blessed David with kingship and wisdom and taught him what He willed. ] - Surah Taha 20, verse 12 : [ Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the blessed valley of Ṭuwā. ] Hadith mentioned : - Sahih al-Bukhari 3957 : Book 64, Hadith 9 Chapter: The number of the warriors of Badr Narrated from Bara’ ibn ‘Azib RadhiAllahu anhu : The companions of our Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam who took part in Badr, told me that their number was that of Saul's (i.e. Talut's) companions who crossed the river (of Jordan) with him and they were over three-hundred-and-ten men. By Allah, none crossed the river with him but a believer.
