Hanny's StoryTime - Islamic Stories from the Qur'an
Hanny's StoryTime
24 episodes
I read my findings/stories after doing research about the events, histories and stories from the Qur'an. And I also gather some hadiths that go along with it (either Sahih, Hassan or Da'if but mainly from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Initially, I started this in my YouTube channel to help my daughter to understand what Islam is all about. But then I realized that there're so much that I, myself were not even aware of. In our daily hectic life, I pray that this 'Podcast' can help us all to remember why we are here in the first place. “Laa ilaha ilallah, Muhammadan ‘Abduhu wa Rasuluh”

Part 1 of Prophet Samwil عليه السلام Story (Prophet Samuel) ~ Jerusalem was already inhabited by the Canaanites before the Bani Israel came in ¦ Learn Islam

Narrated by Abu Hurairah: from Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2646, Book 41, Hadith 2 : The Virtue Of Seeking Knowledge [that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."] As a rule of thumb, any hadith which contradicts the Qur’an should be considered null and void. Only the Qur'an is the absolute authentic text which has remained intact throughout. Al Qur’an is the word of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى and Hadiths are just for our reference. May we receive mercy from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and also receive guidance to gather sufficient supplies so that we are safe and comfortable in Mahsyar facing Allah SWT being entered into heaven by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala without reckoning and also punishment. Surah mentioned :

- Surah Al Baqarah 2, verse 246 :

[ Have you not considered the assembly of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses when they said to a prophet of theirs, "Send to us a king, and we will fight in the way of Allāh". He said, "Would you perhaps refrain from fighting if battle was prescribed for you?" They said, "And why should we not fight in the cause of Allāh when we have been driven out from our homes and from our children?" But when battle was prescribed for them, they turned away, except for a few of them. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers. ]

- Surah Al A’raf 7, verse 138 :

[ We brought the Children of Israel across the sea and they came upon a people devoted to idols. They demanded, “O Moses! Make for us a god like their gods.” He replied, “Indeed, you are a people acting ignorantly! ]

- Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 21 - 23 :

[ O my people! Enter the Holy Land which Allah has destined for you (to enter). And do not turn back or else you will become losers.” They replied, “O Moses! There is an enormously powerful people there, so we will never (be able to) enter it until they leave. If they do, then we will enter!” Two God-fearing men—who had been blessed by Allah—said, “Surprise them through the gate. If you do, you will certainly prevail. Put your trust in Allah if you are (truly) believers.” ] - Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 24 : [ (Yet) they said, “O Moses! (Still) we will never enter as long as they remain there. So go—both you and your Lord—and fight; we are staying right here!” ]

- Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 25 - 26 :

[ Moses pleaded, “My Lord! I have no control over anyone except myself and my brother. So set us apart from the rebellious people.” Allah replied, “Then this land is forbidden to them for forty years, during which they will wander through the land. So do not grieve for the rebellious people.” ]

- Surah Al A’raf 7, verse 161 - 162 :

[ And (remember) when it was said to them, “Enter this city (of Jerusalem) and eat from wherever you please. Say, ‘Absolve us,’ and enter the gate with humility. We will forgive your sins, (and) We will multiply the reward for the good-doers.” But the wrongdoers among them changed the words they were commanded to say. So We sent down a punishment from the heavens upon them for their wrongdoing. ]

Hadith mentioned :

- Sahih al-Bukhari 3403 : Book 60, Hadith 76

Narrated Abu Hurayrah RadhiAllahu anhu : Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "It was said to Bani Israel, Enter the gate (of the town) with humility (prostrating yourselves) and saying: "Repentance", but they changed the word and entered the town crawling on their buttocks and saying: "A wheat grain in the hair."

-Sahih Muslim 2218c : Book 39, Hadith 126

Chapter: The Plague, Ill Omens, Soothsaying And The Like

Usama reported Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam as saying : Plague is a calamity which was inflicted on those who were before you, or upon Bani Isra'il. So when it has broken out in a land, don't run out of it, and when it has spread in a land, then don't enter it.
