In last 6-7 years we must have helped more than 100 odd people getting out of the “Slavery” of their wigs.
Most of them wanted to come out of the “artificial and uncomfortable stuff” on their scalps. They were desperate yet never knew if it was possible to get an acceptable look without the wig/patch. Each person with wig/patch has got a story to tell.
Challenges: 1) Usually the wigs accelerate the baldness! And people who have used it for long have more baldness than they would have got otherwise. 2) The density and position of transplanted hair can never match the wigs.
People with wigs are mostly of advanced grade of baldness and with the wig they get a “unnaturally” lower hairline. In the most experienced hands, it is not possible to match the density of the hair and position the hairline the way wig could.
Other than the above two main issues, points like skin reactions, scarring alopecia, traction alopecia do develop.
