The coming weeks. - I think the next few weeks will be telling. Either things will get a lot worse or there will be some light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever happens the online world I think will go through a period of rapid innovation. Hang on for a scary but exciting ride.
These might seem like tough times now but tough times throughout history are often when people become the most creative. At the beginning of the 1960’s during the Cold War Russia was leading the way in the space race. It was this pressure that pushed the USA to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade.
The positive future I see. If you think about it there is so much waste in the world. For example many people today work on a computer in an office. They could do their work really from anywhere. Home, a cafe, a park etc. 80% of office space could probably be eliminated.
Then there is the travel people do getting to and from their office. All the traffic, roads, cars sitting idle and general infrastructure needed.
COVID. I think it’s time to leave it to the experts while you and I concentrate on social distancing, self-isolation and strengthening our online businesses. I am not saying we ignore or pretend there is nothing to be concerned about but a lesson I learned many years ago was this. Don’t waste time or energy on the things you cannot control.
