RSN Grey Areas | Sir John Henry back
Sir John Henry is back after missing the shows biggest episode! Jason and George tackle a garbage article published on The Guardian which suggests Victoria could be nearly $500 million dollars better off without greyhound racing. In a statement provided to The Guardian which wasn't published in full, GRV's CEO Stuart Laing said "The Victorian economy would be significantly worse off without the greyhound racing industry.” “The supplier network involved in greyhound racing is not just limited to trainers, breeders, kennel attendants and race club staff – it also reaches veterinarians and transport companies, feed merchants, sand and soil suppliers, the construction and IT industries and equipment manufacturers." “Greyhound racing in Victoria sustains more than 4800 full-time equivalent jobs and generates $844.8 million in economic impact to the state’s economy, 41 per cent of which is generated in regional Victoria.” There was also plenty of racing talk during Grey Areas today following the outstanding Victorian qualifiers last night at The Meadows. With more Nationals action to come on Sunday at Healesville up the straight. And more great news from the Healesville with Matt Loch back racing for the first time since he defeated Explicit in the Pink Diamond.
