In this week’s episode of the "Growing Through Grief" podcast, I continue the conversation on loneliness. My focus shifts to the phenomenon of individuals actively choosing solitude over staying connected to the world and others, despite their inherent yearning for love and intimacy.
I draw upon engaging conversations with both men and women, centering around this fundamental question. Their insightful answers have provided me with a wealth of understanding and great many insights.
I delve into a couple of important truths, such as how loneliness isn't silent but rather filled with a noise of mental chatter and unwanted emotions. We delve into topics of trust, the desire to be seen and understood, and the potential for personal growth and vulnerability during periods of isolation.
In addition, I discuss the various narratives we often construct that hinder our path to happiness. I explore the fear of rejection, the longing to be truly understood by our loved ones, and the detrimental impact of self-doubt that can stifle our voices.
Consequently, I share how being a part of a community has aided me in self-discovery. I openly share how these collective experiences have allowed me to uncover significant aspects of myself.
As my conversation concludes, I emphasize the profound significance of overcoming these challenges. By doing so, we can attain a sense of liberation—freedom from the constraints of our own selves and from the burdens of our past.

In this episode, I have the pleasure of interviewing Sharon Rolph, an accomplished author, influential figure, and behavioral scientist. Our conversation centers around the pressing issues of loneliness, isolation, and feeling invisible, which have been recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General as a new public health epidemic in the United States.
Sharon openly shares her personal journey of grappling with the feeling of invisibility throughout her life. However, she also reveals how these experiences have granted her a sense of authenticity.

Whether or not we are aware of it, trauma is a massive transformative force. It molds the way we think and also how we see, react to, and accept reality. In other words, we are a byproduct of our traumatic experiences and the mechanisms we developed to deal with them.
However, that doesn't mean there is nothing we can do about it.
In this episode, I invite you to bring conscious attention to your inherited family trauma. We learn how to look at it with compassion and curiosity, recognize our responses, and modify our reactions to it. We think of inherited family trauma as a group responsibility and not an individual experience.
Plus, we learn mechanisms to accept and embrace painful memories, to allow them to go through us, and, more importantly, how to let them go. We also learn to accept our truth, and I share three points to consider when bringing attention to inherited trauma.

We make a conscious effort to learn how to grieve a loved one. We are aware of the challenges we might be forced to face, the pain we must endure, and the growth we should seek. But what about our own transition? How prepared are we to talk about it?
In this episode, Jane Duncan Rogers visits us to encourage the conversation that no one likes to think about, yet everyone should. Jane is the Founder of Before I Go Solutions, a non-profit dedicated to creating end-of-life plans. She is an Author and Facilitator specializing in conversations about dying, death, grief, bereavement, and end-of-life planning, and was the first person to lead You Can Heal Your Life® study groups in the UK, inspired by the book of the same name by Louise Hay.
Throughout our conversation, Jane shared the story of how one of the chapters of her book, Gifted by Grief, originated a discussion about end-of-life conversations. We go through Jane's grief journey, her emotions after losing her husband, and how she dealt with them. We also talk about front door/back door feelings, normalizing feeling angry, creating a living will, advanced healthcare directives, and so much more.
Some Questions I Ask:
I heard you say you and your husband went through cancer together. Would you share a little bit about that? (5:55)
Could you talk a little bit about the work you started decades ago, about healing yourself? (15:28)

Although the mind is a known, familiar, and predictable space where we spend a lot of our time, it is not always a safe place. The mind guides our lives, whether we are aware of it or not, but it does not always lead our life in the direction we would like. So, is it possible to control where our mind is taking us, to change what is floating there?
In this episode, we unravel the best-kept secret to healing a broken heart. We learn how to deal with the shadows that reside in our minds and blur the paths we would like our minds to follow. We talk about love, not in a conventional way, but in a way you might not have heard before.
We learn how to cleanse our hearts, center ourselves, and be surrounded by nothing but love. We also explore the law of reciprocity, learn how it really works, the best way to get the best out of it for us and those we love, and so much more.

Today, as I was celebrating the culmination of a very intense, compassionate, and loving year-long process, a warming phone call helped me realize that growth is all that matters. Regardless of how we choose to do it, keeping on growing is the perfect way to free ourselves from past trauma, enjoy being present, and be filled with peace.
In this episode, we learn how to open our hearts even when it hurts. We explore why some past experiences we don't remember clearly or aren't consciously aware of come to haunt us, what we can do about them, and how to set ourselves free from them.
We understand why some of our personal relationships with those we love might change during our growth process, how to deal with that, and what is the only relationship we can't neglect. We also go through an interesting analogy between mountains and challenges that will help you understand why a new difficulty arises after every victory.

Generally, the urgent receives more attention than the important, and there is nothing particularly wrong with that; we must take care of what's bothering us right now. Still, there is always something else beyond the current issue. It is a fact that every unwanted habit or pattern is rooted in childhood trauma, and to find the way back to ourselves, we must revisit what hurt us in the past and find a way to make peace with it.
The inspiration for today's episode came from a totally unexpected source; someone asked me a question that triggered a whole new way of looking at disconnection with the self and the feeling of losing track of who we are.
I invite you to search and explore the origin of your pain and the past experiences that trigger the behaviors or habits you want to get rid of. I offer some of the golden nuggets my mentor shared with me about pain and its origin and the best way to get rid of it. We also learn how to deal with trauma using the SURE acronym, my approach to finding the way back to ourselves, and the three questions that will make that challenging task more accessible.

If you let yourself go and nurture that inner conversation, you'll be a captive of crippling anxiety in no time. But don't worry, there is a remedy to that, and it lies right within you.
In today's episode, we discover our way back to love. Not the love we experience through external validation or the sympathy of others out of passion or admiration, but the kind of love only we can give ourselves: self-love.

Together, we discover how blending our mind and spirit can become an unstoppable force capable of silencing the inner chatter and connecting ourselves with what truly matters.
