Welcome to the very first episode of our Women Series - Roots.
This series is all about exploring the stories we’ve been told and the ones we tell ourselves about who we are, what we’re capable of, and whether we truly belong in spaces of influence and leadership. We’re tracing these roots, gently and honestly, to uncover how inner narratives and social conditioning have shaped the way women show up in the world.
In this opening episode, we ask a question that many of us have quietly carried: Am I enough?
This conversation was first recorded during a live session on Instagram, where women from our community shared deeply personal reflections on how this question has shaped their identity, leadership, and sense of worth. Their honesty, vulnerability, and strength remind us that we are already whole and complete, lacking in nothing.
At Grow with Nanya, we believe to grow is to grow with beauty. And through this series, we hope to create space for women to not only reclaim their narratives but to flourish beautifully, just as they are.
Let’s grow, together.

This is Genocide In A Single Man part two, a continuation of the monologue that you heard last week.
It describes the moment when the narrator realized that she had been facing oppression and neglect in her relationship with her partner for such a long time, all because she wanted to get married.
She had been tormented greatly by a man who did not love her but who would continue to berate and belittle her because he was simply a bully and manipulative in a of his way. She had only just realized the gravity of the fall she took by being with him.
In sickness and in health, till death do us part...
I remember writing this particular piece and I had so many thoughts. It came with a voice carrying rage and madness, I imagined the character made drunk by scarlet in a cup, laughing loudly in a prisoner's attire. But this will do, I am not healthy enough to do all of the things that I wanted to do for this piece and time will not allow me.
To the three people who will always listen to my work - Chylde, Kaymor and Adoyiza, thank you! You have all my love. Till we meet again, cheers.
Female subjugation. Subjecting, harassing and domestically abusing young girls, are cancers deeply embedded in the body of our dear African societies. We have culture laced with this polluted and abusive threads, tightly knit to norms and value systems which are very harmful to the mind and spirit.
Today's Armageddon piece talks about these things. It portrays the anger of an African girl who is typically living the "abnormal life" that would be familiar only to perpetrators and enablers of Gender-Based Violence in a domestic setting.
I shared my story through this audio drama and I hope that you see that these things ought to make your skin crawl and make you Mad like Max.

Finished Woman is a piece I wrote during a tempestuous period for me. I was convinced beyond reasonable questioning that I was utterly doomed.
In this episode, I share insight as to why my optimism was foggy at best, and non-existent realistically.
Today, we are presented with an illustration of what a creative block may look like and how it can be expressed by an artist. However, we are not left merely with the perception of it but we are given some small tips on how to go around it. Artists, assemble!
Shout out to Kaymor for allowing me use his beat on this sweet audio drama. You should stream "Skate" and other beats by Kaymor on Spotify.

Today's episode is in the form on extract of an interview of some sort in which the speaker gives her own perspective of what vulnerability means. Have a lovely weekend.
Peculiar Kind is a short piece I wrote that tells of the life of one of those who are considered different in some way. This episode is an audio drama presentation of the piece, where a little girl simply listens to its recording.
