027 Storytelling Magic with Monica Herald

Starting October 9th, learn more about Sabrina's 4 week ecourse, "Reading Tarot in the Round and Walking the Diviner’s Path." This spooky season online course will teach you to jump from tarot neophyte to insightful intermediate through the power of round cards. You'll also learn to interpret key patterns across any layout! Click here to find out more: https://sabrinamariechase.com/reading-round-tarot

How do stories shape our lives? Monica Herald knows. She’s modelled her life’s work on a powerful story that demonstrates how we can all bond together to empower and support each other in times of crisis. It’s guided her through the successful co-creation of books, businesses, and a magical journal for reflections, meditations, and spells. Listen to learn more!

Monica is a wordsmith and business strategist whose work is inspired by the story of "Stone Soup," which teaches that our communities are nourished by combining the treasures we conceal. Using this principle, she assists business owners to design (and execute) their business in a sustainable and strategic way---from how the business is structured, to services and products they offer, to marketing strategies and more. Monica also uses her editing superpowers to help authors structure their books and hone the words they share with the world. Recently, she unveiled the first in a series of notebooks in collaboration with author and witch Sara Mastros. This "Book of Hekate" is a journal inspired by the ancient Greek Goddess herself. In her free time, Monica can be found turning her yard into a native plant sanctuary (to the chagrin of her HOA), cuddling with her cats (who really run the household), and spending time with her bonus nephews and their parents.

023 Manuela Powell The Magic of Your Authentic Self

So exactly how much power does the “inner patriarchy” hold in your head?  You might be surprised! Manuela Powell helps you tackle all those fears of being too much, too loud, too aggressive, too ANYTHING. As an ex-cancer surgeon, she saw connections between the stress and anger her patients felt every day and the illnesses taking over their lives. Now she teaches women how to free themselves from the inside, outside of a doctor’s office.

Manuela is a life coach for 40+ women who are ready to start living their sparkliest, loudest, most outrageously real years of their lives. After finally getting the memo that she was queer at the tender age of 47, Manuela realized most women could use some help to come out of whichever BS closet they've been stuck in forever. So she took it upon herself to be their soul fluffer.

For almost 20 years, Manuel was a breast cancer surgeon, but after having her second child she decided she wanted to free herself from endless work hours, toxic work environments, and unflattering scrubs, so she put away her scalpel to instead dissect women's minds and help them exorcise the “should”, “musts”, and “not good enough” from their brains forever, so they can be on the outside exactly who they are on the inside, to the horror of the patriarchy police.

Manuela is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and after living in New York City, Washington D.C. and Hawaii, she currently calls Austin, Texas her home. As a single mama to her two sons, she dances every day, curses like a sailor who stubbed her toe, and doesn't give a single crap to people who think she should start behaving her age.

022 Christin Dennis Part 2 Indigenous Magic for Turbulent Times

Indigenous Magic for Turbulent Times, Part 2: Aligning Yourself Daily (With Christin Dennis)

In Part 2 of our discussion with Christin Dennis, he explains the core principles, rituals, and practices that help keep him aligned with the Creator. He shows us how he lives his day-to-day life, conversing with Spirit, praying in unexpected ways, and meeting his challenges with courage. You’ll relish his surprising stories, and the universal wisdom he offers for living better every day.

Christin Dennis is a member of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation in Southern Ontario, Canada. His traditional name is Gzhiiaqwat (She u quot), which translates to Fast-Moving Cloud. He is an artist and a musician. He is also a survivor of the Sixties Scoop, in which indigenous children were forcefully taken away from their families and communities and adopted into predominantly Christian, Caucasian homes.

Christin’s art reflects on the current era in Indigenous culture, focusing on the sweat lodge and carrying the traditions of old into the contemporary world. He tells the stories of indigenous heritage and the importance of preserving traditional values.

For Christin, art is a means of expressing his passionate interconnection with "the spirit of all that exists." A spiritual healer as well as an artist, he stresses the importance of traditional teachings and spiritual growth. As such, he has facilitated sweat lodges for many years. Christin emphasizes that awareness of self and one's place in the world is important for members of both Native and non-Native cultures. Perhaps paradoxically, he uses cutting edge technology to make a statement about the distinctive place of ancient Indigenous cultures in a complex, contemporary, multicultural world.

By understanding and embracing the teachings of the ancestral past, Christin seeks to preserve a way of life, document its core value, and help build a vision for our future.

Bored by the idea of a routine? Why not try creating a *rhythm* instead? Holly Holt explains how to replace the rigidity of discipline with the gentle consistency of devotion: a more compassionate way of creating sustainable patterns based on your internal wisdom.

Holly Holt is a writer and depth facilitator who offers experiences that facilitate self-trust for sensitive, creative women who have struggled to find a place in this noisy, demanding world. Her experiences as a singer/songwriter, yoga teacher, and student of personality theory inspired her to start leading immersive writing circles for women in 2012. Most recently, she released The Rhythmic Ritual, a self-paced embodied journaling practice that can be done every day, and launched the Story Tending Immersion, an intimate group coaching circle. She's excited for her next release, My Messy Memoir, in the fall. Thorn tells us why anything worthwhile is dangerous, reveals a hidden key to spiritual practice, and explains how your own resistance to scary work can be good for you! And if that’s not enough, she also leads us in a short (but powerful) breathing practice to align all the parts of yourself---in a matter of seconds. Listen for some uniquely surprising insights from this magical teacher.

T. Thorn Coyle worked in many strange and diverse occupations before settling in to write novels. A queer, nonbinary mystic, Thorn has been a student of the magical arts for forty years and taught in nine countries, on four continents, and in twenty-five states.

Author of the Seashell Cove Paranormal Mystery series, the Pride Street Paranormal Cozy Mysteries, The Steel Clan Saga, The Witches of Portland, and The Panther Chronicles, Thorn’s multiple non-fiction books include Sigil Magic for Writers, Artists & Other Creatives, Kissing the Limitless, Make Magic of Your Life, and Evolutionary Witchcraft. Thorn's work also appears in many anthologies, magazines, and collections. An active creative, Thorn has written and co-produced four music albums, is a former professional dancer, and an avid amateur photographer.

An interloper to the Pacific Northwest U.S., Thorn drinks a lot of tea, pays proper tribute to the neighborhood cats, and talks to crows, squirrels, and trees.
