Rhesa Sumrell was MoWest's first head volleyball and head women's basketball coach, as well as the second head softball coach in school history. She's still the all-time winningest coach in Griffon Volleyball history with a record of 494-167 and four CSIC championships. Sumrell also led MoWest softball to 171 wins in her tenure, including an NAIA national title in 1982. She's now enshrined into seven Halls of Fame, including MoWest (1990), the NAIA, the MIAA (2014) and now the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (2025).
