Jesus had taken Peter from the safety of the boat to leading the church into new, unfamiliar territory, like overcoming his cultural biases to preach to Gentiles. Peter stepped out of his traditional comfort zone to obey God’s voice to take the gospel to a Roman Centurian – a Gentile! Trust doesn’t always lead us to a comfortable place; it stretches us beyond our comfort zone.
