Women's Health: LARC, EMA and the AusCAPPS Network - Professor Danielle Mazza AM, Dr Nadia Lusis and Dr Romey Giles

In Australia, 40% of pregnancies are unintended. Uptake of reliable and cost-effective long-acting reversible contraception, such as intrauterine devices (IUDs) and implants, is lower in Australia compared to similarly developed countries, and early medical abortion can be difficult to access. Many factors impact uptake of or access to these services, including access to primary health care service providers who provide these services.

In this podcast we discuss the use of new teaching resources on contraceptive options, long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and early medical abortion (EMA) to support teaching and implementation of best practice care.
