Providing aged care in regional and remote places
Providing quality aged care in regional and remote places in Australia comes with its own set of challenges. In the aftermath of a global pandemic, natural disasters and sector reforms, now more than ever leaders of providers in regional, rural or remote places are faced with challenges and new opportunities in how to provide quality and sustainable care to older Australians.   This podcast will explore the experiences of an executive leader delivering care in regional Australia and the different ways that aged care services need to be provided in a regional setting.   This podcast features Jenny Deer, the CEO of My View Homes Aged Care. Mt View Homes is located in the Southern Flinders Ranges in South Australia and won the 2021 ACSA Aged Care award for regional, rural or remote provider of the year. Jenny joined Mt View in 2004 and commenced as the CEO in 2014. In her time as CEO she’s made major improvements to the organisation including building staff culture, restructuring governing systems and improving delivery of care to the community, particularly in regional settings.   To learn more or to sign up for the Governing for Reform in Aged care program visit: https://gfr.agedcarequality.gov.au
