Going beyond the predictable means generating a future that was not going to happen anyway. To create a future that was not going to happen anyway, an individual has to go beyond what they already know or have done before. Jono Brent and Marc Pringle of In Your Corner (IYC) talk with guests about circumstances that have shaped them, and how they used these as catalysts for growth. We unpack what going beyond their predictable looks like for them, and learn how we can all shift who we are, what we know, and what we do to create an extraordinary future that goes beyond our predictable.

Going Beyond Being The ‘Yes Man’ To Being A More Intentional Leader

We think many of you will resonate with this one. And not just fellow football fans or proud Tasmanians!

Our latest guest on Going Beyond the Predictable is someone who has always done everything he can to avoid disappointing people. Whether that’s his family, his friends, or his colleagues at TasWater - saying yes has always felt easier than saying no.

As Head of Communications & Engagement and now Acting Head of Operations (South) for Tasmania’s state-wide water and sewerage utility, Callan Paske has had to make some shifts to challenge his default identity, especially as he finds himself in a completely new role and set of challenges - as deploying the same success strategy is no longer a fit for who he needs or wants to be.

Callan has been working with In Your Corner through coaching for the past 18 months. If you’re a leader curious about how coaching could support your own growth, please reach out to Simon@inyourcorner.co.nz.

We’re also taking applications for our Transformational Leadership Programme, a nine month programme that blends coaching with a powerful learning experience and opportunity to join a cohort of other leaders who want to make a big impact.
