60. From Adversity to Ministry: The Faith Story of an Iranian Refugee
In this episode of God on the Move, Mehran shares his compelling story of leaving Iran and converting to Christianity. Growing up in a devout Muslim family, Mehran faced numerous questions about his faith and Islamic practices, leading him to ultimately abandon Islam. His journey involved fleeing Iran, facing hardships as a refugee, and encountering Christ. Mehran recounts how an American missionary introduced him to the Bible in his native Farsi, igniting his passion for Christianity. Now a pastor in London, Mehran has baptized 100 people and continues to preach the gospel.    📚 Links from the Interview Hellenic Ministries Podcast: Faith and Freedom: A Yemeni’s Social Media Evangelism Podcast: Divine Wisdom to Bring the New Testament to Greece   🧑‍💻 About Mehran Mehran Mohammadrezai was born in Iran into a devout Muslim family but began questioning Islam in his teenage years, leading to a personal crisis of faith. After leaving Iran due to religious persecution, he encountered the gospel in a Greek refugee camp and gave his life to Jesus. His faith journey led him to serve in ministry with Hellenic Ministries in Greece, where he met his wife Janet. They later moved to the UK to join Trinity Church Central London. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mehran launched an online Farsi-speaking prayer group, which grew into a thriving congregation of around 90 Iranian asylum seekers and refugees. Today, he pastors this church and is passionate about equipping churches across the UK to better serve the growing Iranian Christian community.   🔗 Join the God on the Move Community on the Lausanne Action Hub and be part of the conversation, see exclusive content and share your own testimony. 📝 We’d love your feedback to help us to improve this podcast.
