The European Union

How does the European Union conduct its foreign policy in a turbulent world? Since its creation in 2010, what has the European External Action Service learned from shocks and crises? Jan Eijking speaks to former EEAS Managing Director for Africa and for the Middle East, Dr Nicholas Westcott, who is Professor of Practice at SOAS University of London. We spoke about crisis in the Sahel, the EU’s engagements in Libya and Syria, and the future of the EU in a turbulent world.
