Episode 4: Developing a Paediatric Oncology Service in Tanzania, with Dr Kristin Schroeder
Children living in low-resource settings with cancer are much less likely to survive than children in high-resource settings. In the next two episodes we explore reasons for this and how we can address this disparity.
Dr Kristin Schroeder is an Assistant Professor of global health and paediatrics at Duke Global Health Institute. In this episode, Dr Schroeder shares her experience of setting up a paediatric oncology programme in the lake zone of Tanzania.
The iCCARE Foundation is an organisation co-founded by Dr Schroeder and Professor Nelson Chao to support capacity development in Tanzania. Listen in to understand what role this organisation has and check out their website (www.i-ccare.org) where you can also donate.
This is the first of 2 episodes with Dr Schroeder, follow us on twitter (www.twitter.com/globaloncpod) to ensure you don’t miss the next instalment.
