Eating Intuitively | Say No to Diets and Yes to Healing

On today's episode we talk about Intuitive eating. By definition: Intuitive Eating is an approach developed to help people heal from the side effects of chronic dieting. Our society today is full of fad diets, quick fixes and conflicting information about food. So, finding a healthy relationship with food is not an easy feat.

Chelsi has recently started working on her relationship with food with the goal of healing her body from the inside out. For her, after years of yo-yo dieting and changing her eating habits for the purpose of weight loss, she started to take notice that her health was suffering. She realized she did not know how to eat to support her body or be optimally functional. Instead she was eating only for the purpose of looking good.

Brittany discusses how emotional eating had more of an impact on her life when she suffered the loss of her Grandmother, which led to her signing up to compete in a body building competition. While preparing for her competition, Brittany went from ~195lbs to ~135lbs in just over three months, which by the way is not sustainable, causing her to suffer from disordered eating. Brittany talks about how competing has changed the way she looks at food and the difficulties she has with finding a balance.
